How do I set up an appointment to see a Doctor?

Am I required to be referred by my Physician?

No. Having a referral form from a physician makes it easier for our Doctor to evaluate your condition and recommend a treatment plan, but with supporting information and documentation you can refer yourself as a patient at C.A. Clinic.

Is Medical Cannabis/Marijuana legal in Canada?

 On April 1, 2014 the Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations (MMPR) made accessing medical cannabis significantly easier for Canadians.  Doctors can now issue Medical Documents (essentially a prescription) which authorize patients to purchase Medical Cannabis from a Licensed Producer. 

Is there an age limit for being prescribed Medical Cannabis?

C.A. Clinic does not have a minimum age requirement for our patients. Patients under 25 years of age will require parental consent and a different appointment process. Please give us a call if you would like more information. 

What are the active ingredients in Medical Cannabis/Marijuana?

Cannabis contains primarily two ingredients: (THC-9)Tetrehydrocannibinol and (CBD)Cannibidol.  THC is psychoactive, stimulates appetite and has anti-nausea and anti-spastic properties.  CBD has no psychoactive effects (Feeling of Being HIGH). It has anti-inflammatory, anti-psychotic, anti-epileptic properties, relieves pain and anxiety and also is neuroporotective.

Do I have to smoke Medical Cannabis/Marijuana?

No.  Our Educational Consultant will show you the variety of products that come from the Licenced producers, such as oils and capsules that totally avoid consumption by the lungs. Also there are vaporizers that steam Cannabis and avoid burning the dried flower and steam the THC and other medical ingredients, therefore reducing the effects of carcinogens caused by smoking.

What are the side effects of using Medical Cannabis/Marijuana

Most of the side effects of Cannabis are from THC.  They consist of euphoria, dizziness, disorientation, impared memory, dry mouth, rapid heart rate and intoxication effects. They usually occur in patients who have no experience using Cannabis and who have not been instructed in how it should be used. Some patients are sensitive and cannot use Cannabis.

Where do I fill my prescription?

Your prescription will be filled by one of the Licensed Producers  authorized by Health Canada. Our educational consultant will help you choose a (LP) that has the right medication to suit your medical needs.

How do I know if I can benefit from Cannabis?

Our team of experts and education consultants will pre-screen you and determine if you are a possible canditate for cannabis use.  A final descision is made by our trained physician and then documents are sent to the Producer to have your prescription quickly filled.

Is buying Cannabis/Marijuana from a Dispensary legal?

No. Health Canada and the Accesses to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR) stipulate that medical cannabis can only be sold by a registered Licensed Producer (LP) and will be sent to you by mail. 

What do I do if I get stopped by the police?

Your receipt and the container supplied from the Licensed Producer legally allows you to have the authorized amounts of Cannabis. Sometimes your card from the Licensed Producer is acceptable. If you don't have either on you, our Members receive 24hr service/support to help with validating your prescription.

Are there any costs to be a member at CA Clinic?

Yes, there is an Annual Membership fee. Our Education Consultants will be pleased to go over our Membership plans. Fees cover things such as our Ongoing Education Seminars, Consultations, Emergency assistance, Police Help, Growing Seminars, Edibles Seminars, newsletters and so much more.

What If I Want To GROW my own Cannabis?

Yes you can

The ACMPR Regulations allows you to grow your own cannabis or have a designated person to grow it for you.


We will assist you in completing the application to Health Canada and determine the prescription amount so u have the right amount of plants to grow your medicine.


You or the person you designated to grow may only begin to produce Cannabis once you have received your Registration Certificate from Health Canada. Growing prior to receiving your certificate can lead to Legal Implications. Our Education Consultants will be more than happy to help you through this process.
